Who is Annabel Chase?
This paranormal cozy mystery author is fairly new on the scene and has already made quite a name for herself. I just finished her first book (Curse the Day) in her Spellbound Mystery Series. It was published on January 7th, 2017 with the second book published right on its heels two weeks later. Today marks the beginning of April and Ms. Chase has already published Book Four (Lucky Charm) and revealed the cover for Book 5 on Facebook. Wow! As an author, I can tell you that her writing and publishing schedule is not an easy one. And I have it on good authority that Ms. Chase is standing firmly in the five-figure monthly earners category already – Bravo! Aside from that we don’t know much about the author personally – no headshot (she may be camera shy, that’s cool – so am I) and no blog (at least not yet). What I do know is that her writing style is fun and light, with a bit of snark and humor throughout – just my type of author.
About Her Books
Ms. Chase creates a magical world that’s a wonderful escape from our human world and her characters are rich with personality. The magical town of Spellbound is beautifully described and all of the magical characters that live there are so much fun. We first meet a fallen angel named Daniel, who accidentally lands the main character – Emma Hart – in the cursed town of Spellbound. The first book follows her discovery that she is not only trapped in this new world, but she is also witch with magical powers… and a lot to learn. The first book is a stand-alone mystery so I will assume the others are as well (much like many cozies). There is a romantic subplot between Emma and two characters but I’m still deciding what team I’m on (o’kay, that’s a lie – I’m rooting for the hot vampire obviously). I’m really looking forward to diving into the next book!
Her books are professionally edited and formatted and it shows – the read is a breeze and all the books are rated with no less than 4.5 stars but must stand firm with 5 stars. I’m not ashamed to admit I’m envious of that – but in a good way! I love being inspired by other authors to become better at my craft.
If you love a good cozy mystery that is full of paranormals like fairy’s and vampires, then this the series for you!
